Description

The arms of Don Juan José Marcilla de Teruel-Moctezuma y Valcárcel of House Moctezuma de Tultengo, Tlatoani of Mexico-Tenochtitlan. It consists of two shields granted to the family on different dates, both emblazoned on a Mesoamerican chīmalli. The first is the shield granted by the Emperor Charles V in the Royal Decree 16 February, 1536 to Don Pedro Moctezuma Yohualicahualtzin, son of Tlatoani Motecuhzoma II. The second corresponds to arms traditionally granted the same attribute as Tlatoani Moctezuma by Emperor Charles.

The title "Count of Moctezuma" was given by Felipe IV of Spain in 1627 to Pedro Tesifón Moctezuma de la Cueva, a Knight of Santiago and a great-grandson of Motecuhzoma II. In 1639, Carlos II of Spain later granted the second holder of this title the qualification of de Tultengo, in reference to a town in the Mexican state of Hidalgo which was part of the inheritance of Motecuhzoma's son Pedro. In 1865, the title was elevated to the rank of "Duke" by Isabella II.

The Royal Diadem, the Xiuhuitzolli (Nahuatl: "pointed turquoise thing"), represents the tail of the Xiuhcoatl, the turquoise fire serpent of Aztec Mythology. Behind the shield are a crossed quiver of arrows and a macuahuitl, a wooden sword embedded with obsidian blades (the last known example of which was destroyed in a Madrid fire in 1884), below which are an oak and laurel branch.

I don't understand Mexicans or Americans people, I still the Mexican for say is seen with kni concept art with charro hat is too exaggerated and just it doesn't use like a joke, but to Knight concept art is too much, many times lose much elegance to drawings .

You shield is beautiful and it has a medieval aspects and it must be very elegant.
