The water's receded and now the house-gutting has begun in earnest. Lately, I've been engaged in tearing out insulation and warped floorboards from my uncle's house (and whoever thought of gluing floorboards onto the foundations, may they be plagued with a thousand splinters). Also, university's started again, making this the last semester for which I'm (required) to take French.

Anyway, being trapped in my house with no Internet was actually pretty productive, art wise. I should have something substantial out by next Saturday... 'cuz reasons.

If you're interested in what the floodwaters looked like, go take a look-see (man, I live in a really low parish...)

It is such a good thing that the death toll was so low. Homes and cities can be rebuilt, people can not. I don't like wet water so i live on a hill. This means that come winter gravity takes my chevy ice skating downhill even with snow tires. I hope your Uncle is dry and happy considering the circumstances. Getting cutoff from the internet once in awhile is a good thing as too many people are emotionally dependent on the web these days. I hope you find inspiration for your artwork.  I still have a prolonged brain freeze from last winter.
